Security Essen 2018 – The new Structure of the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Civil Security

Frankfurt/M. – April 2017. Security Essen will open its doors for the 23rd time next year, bringing together the international experts of the civil security sector for four days. The year of 2018 will bring some changes to the fair regarding the orientation of its content as well as its new hall allocation.

The world's most important trade fair for security and fire safety will take place at the exhibition grounds in Essen from the 25th until the 28th of September 2018. Visitors of the fair are already looking forward to a further developed fair concept. 2018 not only brings a modernization of the exhibition grounds, but also new thematic focuses and new division of the exhibition halls. The structure of the exhibition halls has already been approved by the board at the beginning of the year and is based on the learnings of recent security events as well as the general feedback from exhibitors and visitors. The approximately 1,000 expected exhibitors will be spread over the following six main topics:

• Exhibition Hall 1 – Services
• Exhibition Hall 2, 3, Galeria – Access, Mechatronics, Mechanics, Systems
• Exhibition Hall 4, 5 – Video
  
• Exhibition Hall 6 – Fire, Intrusion, Systems
• Exhibition Hall 7 – Perimeter Protection
• Exhibition Hall 8 – Cyber Security and Economic Security

For the first time, an own exhibition hall will be dedicated to the topics of Cyber Security and Economic Security. Messe Essen, together with the BSI Federal Office for Security in Information Technology and the BHE Federal Association for Safety Engineering, is also planning a specialist conference on these topics.

Furthermore, exhibitors and visitors to the security fair can look forward to the new digital services. In addition to the Media Center, there will also be a new closed exhibitor’s area. Furthermore, there will be a relaunch of the internet appearance of Security Essen and an update of the security app.
