This White Paper compares safes used inside automated teller machines (ATM safes) which are classified according to the lower security levels “UL business hour”, “UL level 1”, “CEN L” and “CEN 1”. On the basis of this White Paper banks and insurers shall be correctly informed about the differences between the classes. 

There are many test procedures to measure the fire resistance of safes and cabinets. Globalisation has led to a reduction of local test procedures and there are now four leading standards: EN 1047-1, EN 15659, UL 72 and NT Fire 017. This White Paper gives a brief overview about each of the standards and compares them.
